Student Applied Leadership Program
Our Student Applied Leadership Program (SALP) is designed to raise up the next generation of servant-leaders. Open to teens who demonstrate maturity, humility, and a desire to grow, SALP offers hands-on leadership experience in a safe, encouraging environment. Students help lead classes, mentor younger students, assist facilitators, and contribute to the culture of Uplift by modeling respect, responsibility, and Christ-like character.
This program helps students:
Build confidence and communication skills
Learn servant leadership through action and accountability
Develop a sense of ownership and purpose within the Uplift community
Cultivate spiritual maturity by leading with integrity and empathy
SALP is more than volunteer work, it’s a discipleship pathway where teens are seen, challenged, and empowered to step into who God is calling them to be. Depending on their interests and strengths, student leaders may assist with classroom management, lead prayer or devotionals, help with setup and technology, contribute to creative arts projects, support social media efforts, or participate in planning special events and service projects. Whether they’re organizing supplies or co-leading a younger cohort, every task is an opportunity to grow in leadership, responsibility, and faith.
To participate in the Student Applied Leadership Program, students will be required to fill out an application outlining their interests and goals within the program. Both the student and their parent or guardian will review and sign an agreement that affirms their commitment to the responsibilities and values of SALP. This process helps ensure a clear understanding of expectations and fosters intentional growth and accountability throughout their leadership journey.
