Uplift Teens Tutor Application

This form is for people looking to invest in the Uplift Teen program through teaching in the Uplift Teen program.  Uplift Teens is an Uplifting program to support homeschooled teens in connecting with peers, growing academically and spiritually, while engaging with the Christian Homeschool community.  Tutors charge a price for a 15 week semester per student.  Tutors choose a minimum and maximum class size.  Tutors expect the money directly from the family participating in the class.  Price for classes generally run from $60 - $160 per student per semester.

Mission

  • To support students’ needs for both life and academics through community connection.  

  • To prayerfully create an intentional space for student support to take place through high school level classes, leadership opportunities, clubs, speakers, social events and adult support on campus. 

  • To support parents of high schoolers through community connection and connection to high school resources,such as HSLDA and OCEANetwork in order to help answer questions, including how to transition from public high school to homeschooling, transcripts, rewarding credits, and grading.

As a Tutor with Uplift Teens I would agree to the following:

Statement of Faith

  • We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible and authoritative Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21)

  • We believe God has existed from all eternity in three Persons; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 3:16-17; 2 Corinthians 12:14)

  • We believe God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  (John 3:16)

Each tutor at Uplift invests their time in the unique and exciting opportunity to help shape young lives. We ask that those who take a position of leadership (such as tutoring) read and agree to the above basic doctrinal beliefs of the Christian faith. The Uplift leadership team will review and approve all classes offered.

Uplift Teens agrees to:

  1. Provide a safe physical space for instruction.
  2. Be an introduction to students and families who are part of Uplift.
  3. Provide additional adult monitoring in the environment.
  4. Provide administrative support to you, as the instructor.

Tutor agrees to:
If my class is approved, then I understand, accept, and agree to the following:

  1. To allow Uplift to run a background check.
  2. To sign up for a secure online account on our website. (If you are not already a member).
  3. To commit myself to the position of Tutor for the Uplift Teens program
  4. To NOT teach anything that would be in conflict with our statement of faith (above)
  5. To submit a syllabus to the director and hand out to students on the first day of class
  6. To complete the term(s) you have agreed to teach (core classes could be two terms)
  7. To communicate your tuition payment requirements clearly to parents
  8. To communicate your availability to students and their parents
  9. To give a percentage grade to the student at the end of the term for core classes
  10. To attend Uplift Tutor meetings
  11. If unable to teach on a particular date, I will  notify a member of Uplift teen director as soon as possible about finding a substitute.
